Media's 4th Annual "Jazz By Night"

Jazz by Night will be held in downtown Media on Saturday, October 21, 2006, 8pm to 1am. Our 2005 Jazz Fest was enormously successful to the delight of more than 1200 people attending. This year's event will again celebrate the diverse sound styles in the world of Jazz music. Several nationally renowned Jazz acts will be featured on 16 indoor stages. Like the enormously successful Blues Stroll and the Americana / Roots Ramble, Jazz by Night offers another enjoyable and fun evening in "Everybody's Hometown".

Jimmy Heath's 80th Birthday Concert


Legendary saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator, Philadelphia’s own Jimmy Heath will return to his hometown to perform with the Temple University Jazz Band at a concert celebrating his 80th birthday on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Perelman Theater at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Broad and Spruce streets. Tickets are $10-$30 and may be purchased at the Kimmel Center Box Office, 215-893-1999, or online at www.kimmelcenter.org

Earlier in the day, at 2:30 p.m., Heath will give a master class in Klein Recital Hall, Presser Hall, 12th and Norris streets, on Temple’s Main Campus. At the concert, Heath will be presented with the Temple University Jazz Masters Hall of Fame Award.
