Jazz At Cliveden 2007

"Jazz at Cliveden" Concert Series returns with premier vocalist, "Ms. Justine & Friends". Cliveden of the National Trust invites you to attend a concert series as part of their ongoing preservation of America's oldest art form, jazz. On Sunday, January 28, 2007, in the carriage house on the Cliveden estate (Germantown Avenue & Cliveden St.), premier vocalist and her group, "Ms. Justine & Friends" will return for another afternoon of great music and she will tantalize you with her vocal styling's from 3-6 p.m. Refreshments will be served and a donation of $15.00 is appreciated. Seating is limited so reservations in advance are encouraged. Entrance is on Cliveden Street. According to All About Jazz.com, "Jazz vocalist Miss Justine (Justine Keyes) is a Philadelphia phenomenon... her unique mastery of the jazz idiom, is so completely faithful to the music that it seems to run through her rather than be "performed" in any artificial sense of that term. Thus, Justine is a "natural" in several respects. And this is reflected in her singing. The result is a unique jazz experience that has universal meaning and appeal." Miss Justine has worked with Shirley Scott, Ray Charles, Keter Betts, Al Grey, Butch Ballard, Bootsie Barnes, Don Patterson, Billy Eckstine, Kenny Barron, McCoy Tyner, Lionel Hampton, Johnny Hartman and her musical mentor for over fifteen years, the late pianist Gerald Price. Here discography includes: "Tasty" and the more recent, "The Many Moods of Miss Justine" both on Dreambox Media. (http://www.dreamboxmedia.com/). Cliveden of the National Trust, scene of the Battle of Germantown in 1777, takes up a full city block along Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia's Historic Northwest.
