Pray for Cousin Mary

Legendary Philly bred and internationally acclaimed saxophonist John Coltrane's "Cousin" Mary Alexander suffered a stroke in early December 2005 and is currently undergoing in-patient rehabilitation services. She is working hard and is determined to recover as much as possible. She is the Queen Mother of the Philly and New York jazz scenes and an inspiration to musicians and jazz fans everywhere. I am praying for her recovery.

We are technology buddies! (I assist with any of her internet challenges) She intends to be online again, as soon as possible. In this blog, you can send her a prayer, well wishes or share your thoughts about this living jewel we've been blessed to have in our community. Let her know how we REALLY FEEL about her. I will print them out for her to read.

Play some 'Trane and Show Her Some LOVE with your posting(s)!

P.S. - The print is from my PHILADELPHIA JAZZ FABRIC digital art collection.

Peace & Blessings,
I pray to almighty God that he will comfort you in your time of need. Just remember that Psalms 30:5 says "Weeping may endure for a night But joy comes in the morning." Thessalonians 5:17 says "Pray without ceasing." We serve an awesome God (Jehovah) Just call on him and watch what happends.

cousin mary,

Please get well soon. I cannot do my "Songstresses Celebrating Sisterhood" without you being a part of it.

You have been a true inspiration to my musical career. Also, Big Vernon sends his regards.

hello,

I've known Cousin Mary since I painted a mural on the front of The JWCCS in 1992 (or so) . Thats a story in itself, but I am trying to reach out to her and this may be my only means of acheiving that goal. I am so sorry to be so long out of touch that I only heard of her condition now, but I thank Loho because without this blog I may have never known. So long story short, I've got a donation that I'm sure can only help her, and I'd like to try and pass it along. anyone that can connect me with her I'd appreciate it greatly.
