LaRose Welcomes Young Musicians

In many of the discussions I've had about the "state of jazz in Philly", one of the most puzzling questions is "Where can young talented musicians get to play with and learn about the business from seasoned professionals"? The fact is that there are very few places. Tony Williams and the management at LaRose are definitely at the top of that very short list. Why is that? Isn't it clear that the young musicians are the future of the music? Post your feedback to these questions.

An exceptional young group, led by Nial Dijuliarso, performed at LaRose on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006. They were AWESOME!

They will be at LaRose again on April 1, 2006 at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Support the music and these fine young musicians. Reservations and Jazz Schedule at 215 248-4415 or 215 844-5818.

I've been to Larose and it is really a nice place and the food is good. The music is also good. The people are mostly old and they are nice. More people should go there. I enjoyed myself.

THERE IS ANOTHER PLACE THAT YOUNG FOLKS CAN JAM. WITH LUCKY THOMPSON AT NATALIES. THEY ARE WELCOME AND SO APPRECIATED. LET THEM KNOW. SATURDAY'S FROM 5 TO 12 MIDNIGHT. THEY CAN PLAY ALL NIGHT. NOT JUST THE SECOND SET. IF THEY WALK IN. THEY CAN PLAY WHEN THE FEELING MOVES THEM. I WAS AT LAROSE AND A GOOD BLUES TYPE OF SAX PLAYER CAME IN AND HE COULD NOT AFFORD TO PAY THE COVER CHARGE AND WAS PUT OUT. THE PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE DID NOT KNOW BUT I DID. AT NATALIES, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. ALL ARE WELCOME ALL SETS.
